Banana and cheddar toast

Serves 4

Banana and cheddar toast

Ingredients

  • 4 thick slices of wholemeal bread
  • A little butter
  • 4 medium ripe bananas, sliced
  • 120g cheddar cheese, either sliced or grated
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup for serving

Method

  • Preparation and cooking time: 5 minutes
  • Pre heat a grill to moderate.
  • Toast the slices of bread on both sides under a heated grill.
  • Spread with butter and then top with banana slices and cheddar cheese.
  • Either eat immediately or return to the grill for a few minutes until the cheese has melted.
  • Drizzle with a little maple syrup and serve.
