Nutrition Conference 2014

The Dairy Council is hosting a conference for nutrition and health professionals on 9th May at the Hilton Hotel, Templepatrick. 

The conference will focus on new developments in nutrition science and practice, including those in relation to milk and dairy foods, and will be chaired by Professor Sean Strain from the University of Ulster

Speakers include:

Professor Luc van Loon, University of Maastricht, the Netherlands
Maintenance of muscle mass in older people – effects of diet and physical activity

Dr Kelsey Mangano, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA
An update on protein and bone health

Professor Jayne Woodside, Queen’s University Belfast
The role of nutrition in maintaining cognitive function in older people

Professor Marion Hetherington, University of Leeds
Influences on the development of food preferences in early life

Dr Michelle McKinley, Queen’s University Belfast
Diet in the prevention of type 2 diabetes

Dr Jeanette Magne, Aarhus University, Denmark
Views about food and health among people with low educational attainment – implications for health education
