Milk It sports nutrition seminar

The Dairy Council hosted a ‘Milk It’ sports nutrition seminar on Thursday 18th October 2012.

Performance nutritionists Alex Popple and Dr Sharon Madigan shared their experiences of the nutritional challenges of athletes competing at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics including for Team GB Swimming and Team Ireland Boxing and Judo.

Dr Naomi Cermak from Maastricht University presented the latest research on protein and adaptations to training including the potential role of milk.

The seminar was chaired by Professor Marie Murphy from the University of Ulster.

The seminar was part of the Dairy Council’s ‘Milk it for all it’s worth’ campaign designed to communicate the nutritional benefits of milk as part of a healthy active lifestyle to young people.
