Milk It seminar

Head of Performance Nutrition at the Irish Institute of Sport, Dr Sharon Madigan and Olympians, Team GB women’s hockey player Hannah MacLeod and Team Ireland 1,500m runner Ciara Mageean shared their practical sports nutrition insights from Rio 2016 at the Dairy Council’s ‘Milk It’ seminar on 13th October.

The audience of coaches, PE teachers, sports dietitians and nutritionists also heard from Dr Emma Cockburn from Middlesex University on role of milk for muscle recovery.

The seminar, chaired by Ruth Wood–Martin, IRFU Head of Nutrition, is part of the Dairy Council’s Milk It programme which focuses on the importance of nutrition for sport and a healthy active lifestyle for young people, including the potential role of milk.
