Finalists 2009

In 2009 the Young Cook of the Year challenge in 2009 was to create a two course meal which incorporated a selection of the wide variety of high quality foods which are produced within Northern Ireland. The meal had to be fun and appealing, alongside taking into consideration healthy eating guidelines and the inclusion of Northern Ireland milk and dairy products. The idea behind the challenge was that many shoppers are now making an effort to source locally produced food because of their concerns about food miles and the environmental costs of importing food.
