Dairy Council

2016 Young Cook Competition Launched

The Dairy Council  for Northern Ireland has launched its 2016 Young Cook of the Year competition.

This year’s competition takes its inspiration from Northern Ireland’s Year of Food & Drink, challenging key stage 3, 4 and Special Education students to develop a two course meal which showcases our delicious local produce and gives four visitors a true taste of Northern Ireland. As well as following healthy eating guidelines both courses are to include Northern Ireland dairy products such as milk, cheese, yogurt and buttermilk.

The competition is open to schools across Northern Ireland and the winners from each Education Authority region go forward to cook their dishes at the Finals in April.

The closing date is 9th March 2016, and more information on the competition including how to enter can be found here
