Beef Macaroni



25g (1oz) butter

1 medium onion chopped

500g (1lb)lean minced beef

1 x7oz tin tomatoes with herbs

50g (2oz) mushrooms

75g (3oz) macaroni

Sauce

25g (1oz) flour

25g (1oz) butter

50g (2oz) grated mature cheddar cheese

250ml (1/2 pt) fresh milk

50g(2oz) grated cheddar cheese


Method

* Preheat the oven to 200oC gas

* Fry the onion and minced steak until brown

* Add the mushrooms and tomatoes and cook for 5 &endash; 10 minutes.

* Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water for 8 minutes. Drain and add to the

meat sauce.

* Turn the macaroni and sauce into an ovenproof dish.

* Place the sauce ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil stirring, add

the cheese and seasoning, stir to melt the cheese and pour over the meat.

* Spread remaining (50g (2oz) cheese over the top and bake for 20 minutes.

* Serve with salad and Baked potato
