Creamy Potato Bake

 

900g (2lb) potatoes Peeled and thinly sliced

1 garlic clove

375ml (3/4pt) milk

50g (2oz) butter

250ml (1/2pt) whipping cream

75g (3oz) mature cheddar cheese

Seasoning

Grated nutmeg

 

Method

* Melt the butter and add the crushed garlic clove. Brush the inside of a large ovenproof serving dish with the garlic butter.

* Arrange layers of potato in the dish and season well. Heat the milk to boiling point, add the cream and pour over the potatoes. Sprinkle the grated nutmeg and cheese on top. Bake in a preheated oven for 1 hour until the potatoes are cooked through Oven temp 180oC Gas5
